Fitness is a Lifestyle Not an Event

Lisa came to DenniseJonesFitness with the goal of losing some weight and toning up. Like most people, she was reducing calories & working out with some success, but not seeing the results she really wanted.

After reviewing her diet & exercise routine, lifestyle, and  likes/dislikes,  we developed her healthy lifestyle plan; even considering her job which requires travel and can make staying on a plan a challenge. By applying the principles of fitness to Lisa’s personal life, we created a fitness lifestyle that Lisa can maintain because it’s based on her personal life – not just the principles – and with no more dieting!

Since then, Lisa has not only achieved her initial fitness goals, but has set new ones, too. She has participated in fitness events (i.e., Spartan Race, Diva Dash, etc), obtained a certification in Sports Nutrition, and has become a mentor and role  model for others. Now that’s what I call success!!!

"At the end of 2012 I got some news from my doctor that wasn’t good.  I had high cholesterol and I was pre-diabetic. Also, I was diagnosed with having asthma back in 2006.  In addition, I was extremely obese.  My doctor gave me 90 days to ‘get my act together’ or I would need to be put on medication to get both conditions under control. This was a huge wake up moment for me.  I did not want to be on medication
for the rest of my life.  Plus, I WANTED TO LIVE!

I started to lose weight on my own just by adjusting my food. However, I was not exercising.  I met Dennise through a friend. I started training with her in February of 2014.  A year and a half later I am in the best shape I have ever been in.  My doctor is very happy with my progress.  My cholesterol is way down, I am no longer pre-diabetic and no longer have any symptoms related to my asthma. I am off all medication.

Dennise not only helped me learn to embrace exercise but she educated me on my eating habits and making better choices. I am still a work in progress, but thanks to Dennise’s friendship and guidance I have come a long way. I am lucky to have met her."
